The Baya Mosque is historically significant because it is the location where "The Pledge of Allegiance" at al-'Aqaba in 2 B.H/620 C.E occurred. The first 12 Ansar (Helpers) from Madina accepted Islam and pledged their allegiance to Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu 'alayhi wa Sallam.

This mosque is on the way to Mina and is next in line for demolition, as the Najdi Ulem'a want the vicinity area of  stoning the Jamarat increased all the way to where this Mosque stands today. This is another Najdi plot to destroy yet another historical site belonging to Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu 'alayhi wa Sallam.
